Custom wall calendars questions, answered.
Everything buyers ask before they order — minimums, timings, artwork and print options.
What is the minimum order?
Just 12 calendars, with tiers that fall steeply for branch networks, trade programmes and mailing runs. Multi-branch versions off one template cost far less than they look like they should.
How fast will my wall calendars arrive?
Your free mockup lands within 24 hours and orders ship in about 2 weeks, express available. But speed is rarely your real problem — see the question about when to order, because the wall is the deadline, not the press.
When should we actually order?
Artwork through late summer, print early autumn, in the post through October. By mid-December every wall worth having is occupied, and a calendar that lands in January is a recycled calendar. We will tell you when your real deadline was, even in November.
Wire-o or saddle-stitched?
Wire-o for anything that has to hang hard for a year: the coil spreads the load across the spine and the formed hook is part of the binding. Saddle-stitched for mailing, where a flat profile and sane postage decide the economics — with a reinforced hang point and a capped sheet count, because a fold carries less than a coil.
Can people actually write in the grid?
On ours, yes, and it is the question nobody else asks. Half the page is a writing surface, so the grid half is specified uncoated or matte-coated for pen and pencil and proofed by writing on it — a biro, a pencil and a marker. Heavy gloss stock flatters a cover photo and refuses ballpoint ink.
How big should the date figures be?
Sized for the distance they are read from. An office calendar is read at arm’s length; a workshop one across four metres of bay. Tell us where it hangs and how far away people stand, and the grid follows — a full-bleed photo with a postage-stamp grid is a poster with dates on it.
Will the year’s dates and our own dates be right?
Yes — the grid is built for your year, and your own dates go into it: term dates, closures, service intervals, shift patterns, local holidays. Date numbers, weekday letters, month names and the year are the whole point of the object; the only numbers we keep off a calendar are prices.
Do you make desk, magnetic or pocket calendars, or posters?
No — we make wall calendars, and that focus is the reason the hanger, the grid paper and the legibility get specified properly. For desk, tent, magnetic, fine-art or pocket formats, or for posters, there are specialists and we will happily point you at one.
